Former Swift Denim textile mill may be demolished
Swift Denim plant’s owners hope to market property for multiple uses after 88 acres is cleared.
Just more than five years after it was shut down and put up for sale, the former Swift Denim textile mill in north Columbus is likely facing the wrecking ball and bulldozers.
"It’s in the approval process internally right now. It’s definitely something that we are considering strongly," said Michael Katz, a consultant and principal partner with Corporate Properties, which is working on behalf of textile firm Galey & Lord. The company vacated the 6801 Flat Rock Road property after its closure in 2006.

According to The Loveland Reporter Herald, the long anticipated announcement from NASA for the location of it’s new Aerospace Clean Energy Manufacturing and Innovation Park (ACE) came on April 5, 2011. NASA has chosen the Agilent Technologies, Inc. campus in Loveland, Colorado as their choice for the new project which will create an estimated 7,000 jobs locally.
